The Old Jalabakis Beat Tape
This was the first project that I first produced before getting involved with studies and networking at the SAE Institute. At the time, I was heavily into producing a lot of Hip-Hop, Contemporary Rhythm and Blues and Trap on the digital audio workstation program Fruity Loops Version Eleven; (which was before getting access to Ableton Live & Pro Tools).

During this stage of my producing career, I became heavily invested in sampling old records and instruments from the early 2000s, as well as drum programming via MPC (Music Production Center) hardware technologies with old gritty drum samples and 808s.

For the first three records on the Beat Tape/EP, I indulged and got myself stuck into laying down chord progressions and hi hat fills that resembled the Trap Rap scene developing in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, as well as the hard Hip-Hop piano type beats that are usually promoted in Toronto, Canada, (otherwise considered as The Six).

Conversely, the last three tracks from the Beat Tape/EP maneuver through the acoustics of Spanish Guitars and Bass Ambiences, where each beat forms an ethnic vibe on its own; telling a story for the listener to get immersed in along the way.
